Terran Tech Vault Terms of Service & Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 23, 2026Welcome to Terran Tech Vault, also known as Terran Services Vault or colloquially "The Vault."
This document outlines the rules, responsibilities, and privacy expectations for using our services. In this agreement, "you" and "your" refer to the account holder or the person uploading files to our servers. The terms "operator," "we," and "us" refer to the employees and staff of Terran Tech who manage and administer the service.
1. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Terran Tech Vault independently. If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, you may only use the service with explicit permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect or store data from anyone under the age of 13.
2. Guest Uploads
The following terms apply when you upload files or data to a folder via an upload-only share link without logging into a registered account.
Ownership and Transfer
We do not claim ownership of your files. However, because anonymous guest uploads cannot be reliably traced back to you, the ownership and responsibility of the uploaded data are implicitly transferred to the registered user who owns the destination folder. Any agreements regarding the use and ownership of these files are strictly between you and the folder owner. From our perspective as the operator, all files belong to the folder owner.
Service License
By uploading files to our service, you grant us a limited license to store, copy, transmit, and share your data solely to facilitate the necessary functions of The Vault. We will never use your data for any purpose that is not an explicit function of The Vault.
Data Removal Requests
Because we cannot verify the identity behind a guest upload, you cannot directly request the removal of your files from our servers. You must contact the folder owner and ask them to remove the data. If a shared link is spreading harmful or unlawful content, we can revoke the link to prevent further distribution. Please note that due to our storage architecture, we cannot isolate and delete individual files.
Guest Liability
You remain legally responsible for the content you upload. You agree that you will be held accountable if you upload malicious, harmful, or unlawful files. Please review the "Prohibited Content" section below for a list of unacceptable materials.
3. Registered User Uploads
The following terms apply when you upload, manage, or store files using a registered account on our service.
Ownership and Responsibility
We do not claim ownership of your files. They remain yours, and you are entirely responsible for them. You agree to use the service in good faith and will not use The Vault to facilitate mass downloads or distribute harmful content.
Guest Uploads to Your Account
You take full ownership of and responsibility for any data uploaded to your folders by guests via shared links. We highly recommend that you only accept files from trusted contacts and avoid sharing upload links with the general public or unknown groups.
Service License
By uploading files, you grant us a limited license to store, copy, transmit, and share your data strictly to facilitate the necessary functions of the service. We will never use your data for any purpose that is not an explicit function of The Vault.
Account Enforcement and Wiping
If you violate these terms, we reserve the right to permanently purge your entire account and all associated data without warning. Due to the nature of how data is encrypted and stored on our servers, we cannot delete individual files to resolve a violation. Our only measure is to wipe the entire account. For less severe issues, we will provide warnings or enforce account suspensions ranging from 15 to 90 days, depending on the severity of the offense and the number of prior violations. Repeat violations will result in a full account wipe and a permanent ban from the service.
4. Prohibited Content
Whether you are a guest or a registered user, you are strictly prohibited from uploading, storing, or sharing the following types of files and data. Please note that this list is not an exhaustive list. The operators reserve the right to evaluate and classify content at our discretion to ensure ongoing legal and moral compliance:
- Unlicensed or pirated copyrighted content.
- Child exploitation material or child pornography.
- Viruses, malware, and other harmful code.
- Unlicensed software, cracked software, and tools used to bypass software restrictions.
- Content designed for fraudulent activities, including phishing and stealing user information.
- Material that promotes self-harm, harm to others, illegal activities, or terrorism.
- Content that facilitates the management or transaction of restricted or illegal substances.
5. Copyright Violations and Takedown Requests
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe your copyrighted work is being shared on our platform without authorization, please contact us immediately to issue a takedown request. To help us process your request quickly, please include a description of the copyrighted work, the specific link or location of the infringing material, and a statement affirming your good faith belief that the use is unauthorized. We will promptly investigate and remove the infringing content.
6. Privacy, Security, and Data Retention
We perform due diligence to ensure your data remains private and secure. All data is stored within Ontario, Canada. Access to administrative functions is strictly limited to vetted employees following standard Nextcloud operational guidelines.
Our Security Measures
We have implemented several systems to protect your data:
- HTTPS encryption for secure client-to-server connections.
- Data encryption and obfuscation for stored files.
- Full disk encryption on our servers.
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and cryptographic key-based authentication for administrative access.
- Automated security responses and flagging for malicious activities.
- Regular encrypted automated backups.
Your Security Responsibilities
While we take extensive measures to protect your information, no system is entirely immune to vulnerabilities. You agree that client-side security is your responsibility. This includes using a secure password, enabling multi-factor authentication for your account, verifying the validity of HTTPS certificates, and keeping your personal devices updated and secure.
Data Retention After Deletion
When you permanently delete a file or an account is wiped, the data is typically deleted right away across all primary storage locations. However, if the data was recently accessed through the service, it may persist in an encrypted state within our temporary cache for up to 24 hours before being completely purged. Additionally, deleted files may temporarily remain in our secure, automated backups until those backups naturally expire and are overwritten.
7. Data Collection and Cookies
Data We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate and secure the service. This includes standard server logs, such as IP addresses and basic browser information, which are used strictly for security monitoring and troubleshooting. We do not use your data for advertising, and there is absolutely no marketing content displayed on the site.
Use of Cookies
We use cookies exclusively to facilitate the core functions of The Vault. These are strictly essential cookies required for session management, login security, and remembering your basic preferences. Because we do not run advertisements or utilize third-party analytics, we do not store tracking or marketing cookies on your device.
8. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service, modify the features of The Vault, or suspend the service entirely at our discretion. We will provide reasonable notice for any significant changes to these terms. Your continued use of the service after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
9. Limitation of Liability and "As-Is" Warranty
The Vault is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no guarantees that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure. You agree that the operators of Terran Tech Vault are not financially liable for any data loss, service outages, or secondary damages you may experience while using the service.
10. Legal and Dispute Resolution
Legal Compliance
You agree and understand that the operators of The Vault will comply with regulatory, legal, and judicial requests in accordance with local regulations and the judicial jurisdiction of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This includes responding to lawful subpoenas and warrants.
Class Action Waiver
You agree to waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or group settlement against the operators of Terran Services Vault. Every issue and dispute will be reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis.
